Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I've been helping adolescents, adults, and families for over 15 years, to make meaningful changes in order to increase happiness, improve relationships, and find healthier ways of coping with the reality that none of this (*gestures at the world*) is easy.
When you are working with me, my aim is get to know you and where you tend to get stuck. Together, we'll figure out what changes you want to make and what skills you'll need to get there. We may laugh. We may cry. I'll probably empathically challenge you at some point (or else why are you in therapy?).
I primarily practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an effective evidenced-based treatment (and often the treatment of choice) for a variety of mental health concerns, in both Individual Therapy and Family Therapy. I also have training and experience with other modalities which I pull from at times. Ultimately how we work together will be based on what you want to work on.
